If you got my email and have been directed to this topic, welcome back! As you can see, we've had some pretty significant changes to the forum software.

We hope you'll take some time and read around the forum, and get caught up on what's been going on since you've been away.

If you have any suggestions to make the forum a better place, feel free to post them. No promises on getting to everything, but I'll happily consider all suggestions.

Thanks!

Hi Murph,

No, I haven't dropped out. Just been feverishly doing other things. Joined a writers workshop and been writing a lot. I've wrtten three short stories, since Oct. 1 that I am trying to get published in paying magazines. Sci-fi.

National Novel writing month is in November and many of us will be sitting at our puters sipping coffee and poinding out a 50,000 world novel during the month of November. The deadline is the last day of November. The idea is quantity not quality. If you get 50,000 words in a month you win. What? Nothing. Just the satisfaction of meeting a "deadline" and it has been found that having dyarrea of the word processor with no editing, helps a person get in the flow of language and improves their writing skills. In fact, some who have participated in this in the past have actually written good enough stuff to be published. Well, after they went back and polished it a bit, I'm sure. :o)

Thanks for checking on me. I have been busy with the birth of our 1st grandson and am now awaiting the birth of the 2nd. I’ve also decided that although “church and state” are taboo, Christians and Conservatives need to unite to take our states and country back! Therefore, I have become involved in many political coalitions and causes. My husband and I have also begun a home church and are enjoying the closeness to those who attend. The growth that I have gained from ULC is phenomenal and I am thankful for the forums and the classes.

I won’t be a stranger anymore!

Hey there, nice avatar. Play W.O.W much? I do, lol. I recently(4 months) ago started self investing in the stock market. Good timing btw, on sending your email. I have seriously been considering building an anti cruelty to humans website, non-profit organization and am a bit lost in the morass of paperwork involved.

Hope all is well with everyone.

Elphaba has left me locked in her basement and wouldn't give me a computer. I've now crafted a lock pick from my fingernail shavings and sneaked upstairs to use her computer.

Shhhh, don't tell her!

Hi Namaste;
Like you, I haven't been very active here. I saw that you were writing Science Fiction which I have been a very staunch reader of since I knew how to read. Been a member of the Science Fiction Book Club since 1954. If there is anytime you would like someone to "read" your stuff, I would be happy to do so. In fact, I've been searching for an author who write the good stuff (hard core Science Fiction ie: Isaac Asimov, etc. Do you write Hard Core SF? If so, I would love to read it, and could very well purchase it. Is your education background in the Sciences? If so, what?
Thanks for listening, and I'll be looking forward to hearing from you.

Hi Murph;
No, I haven't dropped out either. I've just been a little lax in getting online here in the furum. This year, I performed my first marriage cermony. Of course, I was a little "shaky" since I've never officiated in one. However, the ceremony was perfect, although it was an outdoor ceremony, and it had rained previously. The sun came out for the ceremony, and it went back to raining right after. Could that be a sign? No, I'm not very superstitious anyway. After all, reality is everywhere!
I've not preached in any organized church, but have gotten into many very good conversations with many good folks. Will continue to do that anyway.
I'll try to get back here much more often. My experience with ULC is amazing!
Most Sincerely,
Rev. Lou

Well, life has continued here. I am nearing the end of my Masters program. Spending some time each week with terminal cancer patients, otherwise just keeping on.

We probably would remember to come more often if you send the reminders more often. I can not remember when the last one came...

Blessings to all.

I'm still around, too! I performed a couple of same-sex marriages while they were legal and have been studying Reiki and hypnosis to further my knowledge base!

God has been good and I keep working a day at a time.

I really like the changes to the forum. It looks really nice.
Hope things work out smoothly with the new software. I know what a pain it can be to implement a new CMS or even upgrade them.
The only thing I can think of to improve upon is maybe getting some religious style Emoticons like this?.?. Posted Image
They are all over the internet. This one just happens to be one you need to link to. I thought it was cute.
Keep up the great work and God Bless.

Helloooooo out there! It seems that I drift away for huge amounts of time I know, but I'm still here I promise! I do miss posting and chatting here. I think I've put too many irons in my fires, I'm pulled in so many directions right now and mostly its all my own doing.

I'm alive, happy most of the time and doing well otherwise.

I'll try to drop in soon to update on some of the cool things I've been doing.

Hmmm....what I have been up to?

Well, let's see....I can't remember how long it's been, so I'll give the Cliff's Notes version of 2007 to present:

Got divorced
Quit my job and went back to school
Got engaged
Got pregnant
Got married
Waiting patiently for my baby girl to arrive (due date is in about 3 weeks)

In a nutshell, life is good. Very busy, but very good. :)

Hi there. I praise God daily and in my profession God is my boss, and my job is my ministry. Is anyone using their credentials to marry people? Is there a protocol we can use to provide pre-marital counseling, since counseling is my profession?

Is it legal for us to have the clergy sticker to get a primo parking space at a hospital? Is wearing those collar shirt acceptable if we want to let people know we are ministers of God's Word?

Thanks

Rev Dr. David Johns
